I think if a certain track is played regularly at functions, people associate it with cheesy discos/parties, and so yes, it does almost become 'cheese'.

Other tracks, in my opinion, are cheese from the word go - which would include 'I Gotta Feeling' (which I've always thought sounds like something from The Tweenies) and 'Start Without You'.

I wouldn't class TCM as cheese at all, then again I don't play it that often. By the same token though I play Sex On Fire & Brightside pretty regular and don't consider them to be cheesy, however, give it a few more years and they could very well go the way of 'Eileen'. But back to the point in question, TCM definitely not cheese IMHO

TCM cheesy? Not to me personally, but I can see that to some folk it might well be. One man's roquefort and all that.

You should alter that formula to include "Same Difference and/or Jedward and/or Black Lace"! It would be a definitive formula for cheese, then!

I guess the definition of cheese is " a tune they expect to hear at a party, ireespective of the occasion or who the DJ is" ?

Starting a student night this week and I tend to avoid using the term cheese but classics and anthems I think is a better description as even djs cant agree on what is and isn't cheese.

I would say that the definition of 'cheese' is music that is 'cheesey' - hence my saying:-

I can imagine most songs being sung by them, injecting an element of fun and in tuneful harmony
