Ultimax Deckstand
I have just purchased a 1.2 metre Ultimax deckstand and would like to know how you run your cables from your effects.
It came with a 2.5 m dual overhead bar and I normally use global 3 way truss to hang my effects running a 6 way extension up the stands and everything is hidden behind a starcloth.
The dual bar is pretty slimline and I feel the extension lead would be visible and unsightly. What would be the best option for my requirements

i use some long iec cables to a 6 gang socket bar underneath and just velcro all the cables out of the way

At the risk of being predictable, have a look at the Transcension Show Director. I love mine. Only two wires running up the uprights ( one of which is a thin signal wire) the rest run across the overhead.

That's what I use as well

Thanks for the replies
I'm in the option smaller is better for this application I don't need individual switching so the trancension would be a over kill.
I am thinking of maybe a standmate with the 4 iec connectors and replacing the cable with another iec so I only have to run one cable up to power it.
I would of liked a powercon option but I can't find any already made up and I don't know if I could purchase a plastic box to put them in.

you could buy a black abs junction box fit a powercon for the supply cable and then mount a bit of din rail in the box and put some din terminals in there then using binding posts bridge them so you have the desired amount of positives neutrals and earths and then fit glands and run cable to your fixtures?
places like cpc maplin and rs wil stock all the bits needed?
or you could run one long iec to the cross bar and use y splitters to t off for your lights.

Cheers for the information
I'm going to buy a abs box and make my own using powercon connectors, I can get the connectors pretty cheap from my wholesalers.
I just need to get a abs box similar in size as the standmate and I'll velcro it to the truss
