I'm not sure it's going to stick to the metal blanking plate now though! I can get a disc to mount it on though, if it doesn't work.

Dont have to stick it (unless you wanted to which id say a hot glue gun might stick it)
Its non slip both sides, ive seen it being used in cars for all sorts of things.
