Default VESTAX VCI 300 VS DENON HC 5000?

Has anyone had the fortune to use both units?

I am considering going back to rack mounted kit and the Denon is an option.
That way I can mount my mixer, mic etc all in the same thing.

Apart from the smaller jog wheels is the denon better or worse?
i have used a dnhd4500 with scratch back in the day and had no problems.
With an extra mixer i can also have effects and more channels.

I have this at the moment. with a laptop stand as the slidy thing was killing my back.

to something a bit more like this (minus the annoying laptop tray).

    Thanks

The HC5000 is a fantastic product HOWEVER you only have access to 3 hot cues at any one time which is a bit of an annoying limitation as the HC4500 gives you 5, and I use 4 minimum.

Apart from that it's an amazing piece of kit, a bit old now, maybe hold out for new Denon rack mount kit that will work with Itch later this year (maybe).

But, this and the X050 mixer...a very small back friendly system

i have the same on the vestax so no change thier.

i did have the 4500 and the 050 before.
Good mixer but no mic eq and limited channels/outputs which is always good in a pickle etc.
I would go for the one with four channels, two mics and effects.

Thanks for the feedback my friend

I am warming to this idea.

    I am thinking:

    On top:
    Denon 5000
    denon mixer - 3 U (perhaps 4)

on the bottom - Just one draw with:

    mic reciever (small AKG)
    power for all
wirless DMX sender to lighting & lighting dontroller - small box GWDMX.
    and an ipad running DJAY.

Just trying to work out where I will stick my laptop stand as I hate the slidy draws.
Will probably have to be a custom slot in job?

Whole lot will possibly be a plastic flight case?

James, this thread's over two years old, and quite likely to prompt one Hirsute Southern Member to utter the immortal words " Bring out your dead"

Thanks for your thoughts, Toby's likely to have made his decision by now, but it may help someone else further along.

Funnily enough, I actually know one member who's contemplating something a similar course of action.

I feel sure that now the subject has been resurrected, the lad will overcome his usual reticence, and give us an in-depth review of his findings.

    Possibly with a video?
