The only thing I plug in to my mini-hub is my DJ2GO controller and my webcam for showing live video on the big screen. I always say you should stick with the USB port that you originally used to install the device as this seems to cause less problems but the camera and controller don't seem to care where they get plugged in!

Yes I agree, should not be any problem using different USB ports but I think it is just the fact that it did not like being with the mouse and usb soundcard all through an unpowered hub.

Aha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unpowered hubs are the work of the devil, and should be consigned to the bin. I'd only use an unpowered one for USB sticks and keyboards. Nothing else.
