Well I didn't, but it seems, now I do.

Early on at a wedding a few weeks ago, as it was a bit slow and there were a few children jumping around on the dancefloor, chasing the gobos etc, I played a few musical games with them, musical statues, musical bumps and corners, apparantly one of the guests was a primary school teacher and I have just been asked to do a schools xmas disco on a Sunday afternoon.

Now, whilst I managed to keep the kids entertained at the wedding for about 20 minutes, I am a bit unsure about keeping 80 of the "little darlings" entertained for 3 hours. I have suggested maybe some Karaoke for the older ones, but how do you keep 4 and 5 year olds entertained for that long?

I did try to turn it down, but they were even prepared to change the date and times to suit me. Help!

You probably won't, their attention spans being what they are 2 hours is usually the max for a kids party with us (& even then it can be challengng). It can be great fun if it all comes together though.

    Eddie,

Firstly mate, as already mentioned 3 hours is to long for a childrens party.

    I always suggest 2 hours.

As far as content mate, just do what it takes so the kids have a good fun time, loads of participation ie:- party dances, games and competitions etc.

Get any adults/Teachers involved as well, kids love seeing them embarrased!!!!

If you require any further help mate do not hesitate in contacting me.
(Shame I live so far away lol)

    regards

OK, my gigs are getting younger!

Fist I get booked for a 13th, now I get booked for a 7year old - but it's I guy I work with - not thathe's 7 years old, although most here act like that!

    Any advice?

Am I back into the party game thing? If so, it's been a while since I played party games - do we still do all the traditional ones - musical statues, bumps, pass the parcel, pip squeek and wilfred and so on....

Or is there new and trendy games to do now?

    We do!

    Love 'em. Best gigs IMHO.

We've even started branding them differently, and I know the site needs more work (which it will get REAL SOON) but intention is to push this hard next year and have my son/roadie (16) front them, hopefully spawning VV2.

The above info is no longer valid. I've since stopped doing 'kids parties'.
