    Default Yamaha DSR12 / DXR15 Active Cabs

Yamaha DSR Series takes portable loudspeakers to the extreme limits of their potential.
There are a few options on these, you can get a 8",12",15"& dual 15" version
Ok so if you are after a cheap active system do not look at these! At £1400 a pair the DSR12 are not a budget option, But the Sound you get from them is Fantastic.
They are Ply cabs so not light (21kg) and They run a 1300W Amp (LF: 850W HF: 450W) and have XLR & TRS Inputs.

Had these a while now and while
1.The handle is in the wrong place (on the top)
2.The Shape makes them more look more Monitor Speaker then Disco speaker
The Sound Quality is amazing. I am not sure if it is down to the 2" Titanium diaphragm compression driver or the D-CONTOUR (Dynamic CONTOUR) - FIR-X tuning (linear phase FIR filter) 1.7kHz Crossover but I listened to quite a few systems when shopping and these were in a class of there own.

BUT here is the problem I also have a pair of Yamaha DXR 15 cabs

Handles in the right place & They also have a choice of Stand mounting whole so will tilt forward if req'd
They run 1100W Amp (LF: 950W HF: 150W) They have three seperate inputs XLR, Phono & RCA each with its own Gain control!
While if you put these speakers next to each other in a very quiet room and play a tune, the DSR 12" quality shines through, If however you use them as Disco speakers the Plastic DXR 15"s are more than capable of the job and will cost £400 a pair less!!

Both have a Contour button Which just seems to make the sound richer and Sub filter button as well as a button that switches on/off the Led on the front?

Both come with a Seven (YES SEVEN) year warranty and there is a choice of SUB available

So Yamaha has a choice of speakers which in my opinion are as good if not better than the major players
