    Default Lights from another country

    Hi guys,

I have a bit of money set aside to upgrade my rig. My questions is: if I buy lights with a european plug, will the brightness/power/output be affected if I use a converter to change the plug to a UK one? Also, I'd assume there was no earth cable which is also a problem. Any advice or help would be great.

    The lights: http://www.thomann.de/gb/stairville_...ack_bundle.htm
    The converters: http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_traveladaptor_uk.htm

    Cheers in advance.

Chop the plugs off entirely and replace with these: http://www.bluearan.co.uk/sales/conn...s/iec_male.jpg

Much easier to work with then.

...or just get your pars from this country. They aren't that much cheaper from Thomann.

You can use them exactly the same with an adapter plug, they are also earthed if required (you just cant see the earth as it's recessed)

The only real voltage problem you could encounter is if your lights come from the Americas. UK & European voltages are close enough together (they are now actually supposed to be the same) so as not to matter

The majority of lighting is mass produced abroad anyway!

I once bought a lighting fixture from the Isle of Wight.

Doesn't most ADJ gear come with European plugs + adaptor, even if bought from most suppliers in the UK?
