Hi
Does anyone use a webcam for Live Video Feed through Virtual Dj, and if so, can you recommend a good webcam that can give a good picture in low light conditions.
Thanks.

I bought one of the best HD webcams the other day and may not need it.
Was looking to use it for the photo booth, but will stick to a DSLR.

I used to use a Logitech one when I was doing karaoke in pubs with big screens. I could put the live feed of the room up for all to see! It got a good reaction from people - what I call the "Dixons' Window Effect"!

I did visit PC World to enquire about a webcam that could do the job.
The assistant told me that no webcam would be suitable for long range and low light.
He suggested a GoPro.
I'm not being funny but my experience of PC World is that their staff are highly unknowledgable when it comes to their products. They are also salespeople so will get a commission bonus based on their sales. So their advice might not be as impartial as it should be.
I've did a quick Google search for webcams in low light and came across this review:

Logitech have quite a few models in this review. Mine is the C910 model which is the second review on the page. Apparently:
Make that 301!300 owners say it’s
excellent for low light
And a review from a satisfied Amazon customer:
A few weeks ago we ordered two Logitech C910 HD Webcams, one for my son and one for me. Installation was a snap, both worked without a glitch under Win XP. The first tests showed that the image quality was outstanding. Sharp, crystal clear, with a good autofocus function. Zoom also worked well, even at the highest magnification the image remained sharp and clear.
I tested the cam with msn, yahoo and skype, all latest versions. Skype gave the best results, msn a good second, yahoo being slow but still acceptable quality.
As most webcams, the C910 HD comes without a stand, so you have to fix it on your screen. On a flat screen this works well, on an older CRT monitor this was more difficult because the camera USB cable is not flexible enough so that the camera sometimes moves when you move the cable. I made myself a wooden stand so that I could put the cam exactly where I wanted it, which was a big improvement.
The software gives you the possibility to not only zoom but you can also pan and tilt. This is great if your cam is fixed on your flat screen, but the pan and tilt function only works when you zoom in one level. The zoom function is not continuous but goes in steps, which is a little bit annoying but not really a problem.
The webcam works well in bad light conditions and the stereo microphone does a great job. The echo cancellation works well and the noise reduction is great too.
The Logitech C910 HD is certainly the best webcam I've ever used.

I went to PC world and ended up explaining what a VESA mount was to the staff member.
I then said about there being four at the back of the PC and he said it was just a plastic area.
On getting out his knife he then found it was a bolt hole for the VESA connections under a sticker.
That amongst other things did not fill me with joy. I don't even own a PC and I knew more about windows than him!!
