Default and tonight, Mr DJ, the first dance song will be...

    Combine Harvester by The Worzels.

So far that's the only indication of how this Harry Potter themed wedding reception is biassed, musically.

Who said that DJing is boring ? This venue is a laugh a minute! I was only here on Tuesday & grilled them for info. None was forthcoming.

Cue up Nat King Cole 'face the music' quick!

The groom will be coming to have a chat presently.

Heh. No. Anyway the groom cancelled the first dance, said the manager later. "Just announce the cake cutting & get on with the party". So I did, and it turned out rather good, with 'Combine Harvester' as the very last song of the night.

One of my favourite First Dances was Paul McCartney’s ‘We All Stand Together’ (yep, the frog one).

Imagine an open air terrace looking over the Thames, an eccentric collection of guests (old money, mad as hatters, decaying country mansion type eccentric) all waltzing with the B&G lit only by a mirrorball - it was truly surreal, magical and perfect.

Certainly sounds idyllic. I've almost had my fill of having to work against last minute information & vague afterthoughts but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now

I presume that every first dance is very individual , so with that in mind , Love will tear us apart - joy division , and rock for the rest of the night , as is turned out , everyone was into that , so a great night all round.
