    Default Auld Lang Syne

First time I have done a NYE since the 1980s so which version guys?

My mate and fellow DJ 'Mack' says he has a version by The Hermes House Band which get's faster and faster and is a good party version but now he can't find it so let's say 'he had a version' but googling this myself doesn't to find any reference to a Hermes House Band version?

Other than that from experience of going to other NYE parties of late as a guest and observing other DJs, The Final Countdown, Rock Around The Clock, The Time Warp and for some bizzarre reason I never quite understood 'Frank Sinatra - New York New York' seem other good tracks to play around midnight?

    Cheers

i never work NYE (as im banned ) but have done my fair share of Burns Nights and Scottish Weddings in my time.

i think it depends on your audience and if you know what they are like--age group, energy levels etc etc.

My own version is a Scottish Country Dance Band thats not available on download and a bit traditional for most.

If you look on I tunes and have a listen on You Tube theres a huge selection from Susan Boyle, through to an amazing version i have never heard from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers which is very punchy.

I have a middling version ( i just discovered on my collection ) by Gay Gordon of Mince Pies fame (cant see it on I tunes) which is so good we are going to use it at our own Party on NYE here!!!!!

A middling version on I tunes is Big Wills NYE Party and sounds a bit like Black Lace to me.

Good luck with it, as NYE tends to be strongly associated with Scotland you might try Runrig Loch Lomond depending on the audience of course.

No need for me to worry about the new year song this time. As last year, the hotel is providing a piper. And I still don't have any ear plugs!

Yes I'm gobsmacked it's so good, definitely have to play at home this year.

Mind you if only Runrig had covered it---or have they?

Would be a blinder mixed in with Loch Lomond😄😄😄
