EventUK Payment Problems
Long time no speak guys... decided to post a rant to get it out of my system ( sorry )
Really not impressed with EventUK. After 9 weeks, after registering with them and sending over invoices, I am still waiting payment.
I was due 6 weeks worth of back payments today.... and nothing was received. I called them and they had the WRONG BANK DETAILS!!! The wrong bank details, so someone else has my money. NOW I have to await until next week....
How the hell does that happen you say? EventUK said "Human Error"... When someones livelihood is in question, this sort of mistake should not happen, especially when the details are clearly written on the registration form!
Has anyone else had a problem with Event UK and payments, or any other problems with Event UK?

I dont know the organisation but just to say dont be fobbed off with--WE ARE TRYING TO RECOVER THE MONEY FROM SOMEONE ELSE.
Just tell em you want paying right now.
Otherwise time to get heavy, assuming you are NOW entitled to payments.
I have spent this week hassling and threatening an International Corporate who didnt want to pay upfront --but give THEM 30days credit--

I've heard of event UK. I once had to sign up with them to get work in a certain club in Bournemouth... They weren't the most helpful, ended up not bothering, but I knew a few DJ's on their books at the time.
If it's their mistake they should pay you now and sort it out in their own time.

Might be standard for you Neil.
Not for us.
We won't be pushed around by Hotel Chains and others.
It's pay up front or we don't work with you.
Never had a problem yet after a bit of friendly persuasion.
Bear in mind we don't regularly work for Pubs and Hotel Chains where I understand you might have to go along with it.
We are very much a one off Entertainment so not bothered.

My corporate clients tend to pay afterwards too. Don't know why this is, but it was something instilled into me by my Miyagi 15 years ago, and I guess that it's just a 'done' thing.

Same here.
As long as I have a purchase order, and it's a reputable, established company, then that's the way it is.
Unfortunately, with the corporate trade, if you don't accept their terms, then they will simply book someone else.
And it's quite nice to get paid after the gig sometimes, rather than always getting the money in advance!

Yes i would do 30 days invoice, but prefer payment upfront. Not bothered either way as long as there is a contract.
i assume it has something to do with VAT or LTD company admin stuff as its standard with loads of businesses??

It has to do with keeping the money in their account as long as possible, and improving their cashflow. As a general rule, the bigger they are, the slower they pay.
