    Default Zoom help

I’ve got an event over zoom shortly. I’m experiencing some technical issues. Mainly latency. The audio speeds up and slows down intermittently. Anyone had any success over zoom, or experienced the kind of issues mentioned?

Never had a problem with it to be honest, though it does seem power hungry at times

Yup, that is unfortunately what Zoom does. If it encounters delays in the connection it'll quietly catch up by frame dropping (audio and video). A good broadband connection is usually the best fix, but there may be some options under the advanced audio settings that might help.

I haven't used this myself, but I noticed someone touting PlayDJ.tv earlier as a zoom like, private streaming platform with an emphasis on audio quality. Might be worth a look?

No idea if it's better or worse, but we use Houseparty.

I’ve not much say on the platform used. Zoom is what they’ve chosen so it’s a case of trying to find a way of improving the problems I’m facing. I get good internet speeds. I’ve tried it both over Ethernet and WiFi on different devices, and the delays and catchups are there on all I’ve tried.

Have you tried on a completely different internet connection?

Who have you connected to to test it with, as the issue could be at the remote end?
