Well, the past couple days is really throwing into doubt when we will return.

Changed or not, I've lost the one I was covering for someone. Granted, another July one has moved to September, so that's something, I suppose.

The sound level that was quoted previously 85db has been dropped and volumes are not mentioned any longer.
The guidelines are just that, very few of them are laws.
Nobody is policing this, just agree what's what with the venue and go for it.

My 11th July that I
lost and was looking to push back to September. Seem's he's had words with the venue this morning who are assuring him that his wedding will be pretty much as he was planning and it's all systems normal. I've obviously gone back with the warning that things
might not be quite normal with volume levels and certainly no dance floor as things stand and he still seems OK.
So, back to July it is for that one then
Anyone know for fact what the "rules" are at the moment? This one's a marquee (not sure if the walls open or not). Getting confused seeing things from the Facebook lawyers about sound levels (and where are they measured from?), lighting (can we or can't we because it encourages dancing), and warning guests before proceedings commence that they need common sense and leave things at that. Also, if there were to be an inspection and things are a little shall we say, "rowdy" - who do they go for? Me....or the license holder?
The venues I've talked to that are putting up marquees are basically telling me it's business as usual once the function goes outdoors.

Pretty much what many round here have done previously. Next Saturday's wedding had already planned that months ago, clever lad.

Disco Dude!
Collected two hire jobs yesterday.
One at 8pm, clearly followed protocols and hence why it was wrapping up at that time.
Other one at midnight, DJ overplays by 15 minutes. Nobody wearing masks and dancing together. No staff to be seen.
It's a mess the whole thing.

One of the venues I cover for has insisted that DJs only use one speaker to help reduce sound levels and staff have a handheld DB devise to measure levels 1 metre in front of the speaker and stick to 80db.
