I'd love to disagree with that, but sadly, I know it's true.

As a top line, lateral flow tests (quick testing) seems an obvious solution.

But what happens when the mother and father of the bride test positive on the morning?

It could lead to some interesting situations!
What happens? They isolate for ten days. Simples. ( In theory. In practice, refer to Julian's post).

Who is going to organise a weddings where the parents, best man, bridesmaid or even the bride and groom themselves cannot attend. As they wouldn't find out till it was too late they would likely lose all their money and little chance of claiming off insurance.

I just still feel the goalposts keep moving - surely once all the over 50s are vaccinated we should be able to open up fully ??

Well yes. Of course. For clients aged over 50, with a " more mature" white haired old DJ?

Yes! One minute the vaccine is our ticket outta here, then the next we've still got to 'live' with restrictions until the end of time.

This is the reason why lockdown restrictions have to stay in place until numbers come right down and no amount of vaccinations or testing can change that. Theres a real risk that we'll end up with variants that will be vaccine resistant and completely undermine the global vaccination strategy if transmission and cases stay as high as they are in this country.

What an excellent idea. And who themselves have been vaccinated of course.
