    Default Gimme A Hamster & A Wheel

In a couple of weeks, I'm working an all day wedding. The problem is that guests are going to be filtered from one area to another throughout the day, and neither area has an ideally located power point.

Now the easy solution to this would be to buy something like the Maui 5 Go, but I only do a couple of all dayers every year at most, and I'm not spending that kind of money for what is essentially going to be a one off.

Which got me to pondering - does anybody have any experience of using a battery pack to power their speakers? If so, are there any suggestions that you would recommend? As for the bluetooth aspects, that one is easy enough to sort out.

Hire a GO? ( Too far for me to fetch you one , sorry ). Or perhaps buy an El Cheapo equivalent?

After a cursory Google, a really decent battery pack could come in at a price close to a GO!

    I like Gavin's solution

Seriously though, I have one of these which I use "occasionally" (i.e if they want a PA for the afternoon but don't want to pay me to be there....they hire this)

If they're not pushed, they work. They're not the best in the world and can sound really bad when pushed too hard....but a possible means to an end?

Call that an extension, Gavin? Pah! I'd be looking for at least 50m of thick cable myself. It's a discussion we've had on here more than once. Where's TonyA1 when you need him? He was the oracle in these matters.

If we're attacking it that way, I'd be looking at a suitcase generator, for example rather than long cables. Wouldn't run much more than a laptop and one dinky speaker, but that should be enough.
