Turns out that the fixtures on the Gigbar are interchangeable. Well, to a point - the movers aren't going anywhere, but everything else can be swapped.
With this knowledge, I've ordered new pars from Chauvet so I can ditch the derbies and get more wash. It's a wait time of a couple of months apparently, but it'll be amazing to ditch the dotty.

Probably the first thing almost every DJ said would really make it a game changer. It's only taken Chauvet about ten years to catch up.

It's an option, obviously aimed at economy of effort, a perfectly valid reason. I'm with Mr Jackson on this, add more separate par cans. You pays yer money..................................

It's been nearly a year since I started using a pair of Gigbars for most of my events. In April, I got my sweaty paws on four new par cans and as a result, the derbies have been binned. I think that the extra wash effects makes the Gigbar look a damn sight better.
At the end of last night's wedding I decided to grab a quick video for Facey and Instamagram (which I should a lot more often). Since I have been documenting my Gigbar and Soundswitch journey in this thread, I figured that I'd share the video to show how a Gigbar programmed by moi using Soundswitch looks.
I'll admit it - the Gigbar is growing on me (as long as it's modified!).

Which is exactly what every DJ who saw the first one said all those years ago. Sometimes, the people who make equipment can really take a long time to catch up. The Helix/XP took forever to arrive as well, despite people crying out for one for years.

I've seen a lot of people do this and while I can see some advantages, I still like the effect the Derby has on a low roofed venue.
I have also added extra Pars on a separate bar and now have two extra Moving heads, I will do a Video when I have chance.
ILS while still a little expensive is so easy to use.
