That depends on your location.
If you're in the USA you need a license, but if you're in the UK (as I suspect you are) you need a licence.

In that case, I think it's safe to say that unless you're Tim Westwood on Pimp my ride, the word is Response.

Apparently and I didn't know this until about a year ago, i'm 39 and have 'O' level english (WOW!)
"A produb licence means I am licensed to format shift my music"
License is a 'verb'
Licence is a 'noun'
no wonder foreigners have a hard time!
