New Years Eve was a stormer possibly one of the best nights of the year so far. It was on a army camp in the sgts mess and every one was so friendly. there was lost of children at the party which i did not expect given the venue. But i quickly realised that these kids needed entertaining and that is just what i did by playing lots of games with them which the parent thought was great because they could get on with the business of drinking. so after 3hrs of entertaining the children i was knackered so i started to play music by asking for requests and i was inundated with lost of requests mostly modern chart but also some 80's every one was having a great time and i was so busy i just did not have the time to have a quick cigarette and before i knew it it was 5 to midnight i then got them all on the dance floor ready for the big bang i was using the mic a lot at this point to get them all fired up and when midnight came and i played auld land syne the hairs on the back of my kneck stood up it was just awesome then it was out side for fireworks and a cigarette phew .....then back in for a party starting with rocking all over the world abba and a dj otzi mix then back to the requests. was ment to finish at 1 am but played untill 01 45 free of charge as it was just a great night.

at the end the chap in charge said i was outstanding and he had lost of compliments in the way i entertaind the kids he said i would most certanly be booked again and could not thank me enough. as i was packing away the quests were comming top me thanking me for a great night. i felt proud that night i did a good job and its was jsut one of those feel good nights.

here is to 2009 and see what that brings

Well done buddy and congrats on what seems a fantastic evening's entertainment it just goes to show that when you are immersed in what you are doing how the time flies.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back mate for going over your finishing time that is one thing that will hold you up for future bookings, the fact you gave your audience "just a bit more"

Some forum members may say that it was the wrong thing to do because they will expect it everytime, I say if the audience want it give it to them and reap the rewards later.

Wishing you continued success for 2009 mate

    Default My first 2009 Party

I arrived at the venue to find the car park absolutely rammed out with cars due to something going on in the church but I managed to find a space which was not brilliant but as close as I could to the door.

Very soon after the organiser turned up and did exactly the same as me saying “They are going to have to be blocked in until we have both unloaded” (don’t you just hate that you are unloading and someone asks you to move)

Anywho, gear in and set up then the “Churchies” started to return to get their cars!!!!

First was a very nice gentleman who asked me very politely if the voyager was mine to which I replied “Yes mate I will move it right now for you” and went to get my keys. Upon returning the man had been joined by his wife who really flew at me which was quite funny because she was about 4’ tall and I am 6’ 5”!!! car moved and they went on their way.

The organiser lady was having a right old row with another lady smurf who was yelling and shouting about being blocked in so after the organisers car was moved smurf No2 got in hers and reversed very fast collidiiding into a heavy table which then hit the wall of the venue because she was going so fast… boy it was funny!!!!

Party start time saw us straight into our normal party dance start which everyone joined in with including the mums that were there and it was after the start we met our first winner - “Regan” I said to her that if her head started spinning and she threw up green soup I was going home!!!! This comment had Regans mum in absolute hysterics.

We continued with a 100% full on chaos mixture of party dances/games and a whole heap of silliness which left all the children and the mums exhausted.

The show finished with our “Party Dance Challenge” where we play 5 of our party dances in a row with no break and the winner wins the CD!!!

The end came round very quick and it was all over for another year.

An "AWESOME" start to what is looking to be a very busy year for us.

    Next Week
    Wedding Reception on Saturday
    5year old party on Sunday
