Really odd gig tonight. Brilliant but surreal. There were pictures of me when I was five behind there wedding cake!

Tune of the evening had to be 'Wish you were here' - Pink Floyd. It was a gamble but worked a treat. Usual chart stuff, old northern soul, plenty of 'jive tunes' and Rolling Stones. Everybody there used to be best mates with Mum & Dad when they were in there 'youth' Mum used to go out with the groom!

taxi driver spoke...'Is this the Mick Brown with black curly hair. I used to pick him up from Wensley Road and his missus used to run out shouting 'don't honk! you will wake the neighbours!' - Yup, you guessed - he was spot on.

So so so so so so odd.

Darren, yes...simple question and if I am out of order for questioning it then apologies but I saw it as a negative. In that I mean, it almost felt like Charlie trying to advise or teach me tips on how to play the bloody Hokey Cokey to a crowd when I have done that kind of thing for years.

Gary, Charlie does ask a lot of questions - that's why he has learned so fast and yes, he does have things that I'm sure you or I could learn from too.

No disrespect to you Darren or Charlie but I will have to disagree with that last line. I take on board quite a few things from people on this forum and I am not having a go at anyone in particular but....well, I'll leave it there.

I won't lose any sleep over the 'Hokey Cokey', put it that way. Getting people into a big circle and announcing songs etc is nothing new...afterall, we've all been doing it for years.

The hokey cokey is a song that you can't 'just play' and expect people to automatically arrange them self into a big circle. You need to explain what you're going to play next with a few simple instructions and a bit of motivation - then it will work.

If I played it and didn't ask them to get into a circle beforehand - it would always flop! The intro 'dum dum dum dah dah, put you're left hand in' is literally two seconds long which isn't enough time anyway for people to get ready.
