Following the errr.... 'difficult' night last Saturday with the playout being ar5ey

I did the same job again this Saturday (covering for a mate at a town centre boozer) and the laptop was flawless never missed a beat, indeed I think it's actually faster and slicker than it's ever been!
I wish I'd found the replacement driver years ago!

    Gig was good too

Without going on and 'blowing my own trumpet' - tonight was outstanding. Really fabulous in every way possible.

Is writing a decent, detailed review "blowing your own trumpet" because if it is and it annoys people then I won't do it anymore.

    No, not at all!

I could give a detailed review but it would be harping on about how good it was. Nothing extraordinary or interesting happened - so I didn't think it warranted a detailed post.

Only if you liberally pepper the text with phrases like" Legend, Awesome, Stunning, Rescued, Flawlessly," or " I was stunning, as usual an absolute Legend, the night was awesome due to me performing flawlessly, and I rescued the night after the punter's list bombed"

Gary, the point of Good Gig,Bad Gig is to recount your/our experiences, be they good or ill. If nobody posted, it would lose it's whole purpose.

And anyway, I often need a bit of help getting off to sleep. ( JOKE Post away mate, That's what the section's there for)

Charlie, I don't believe you. Something extraordinary always happens at your gigs.

Charlie may as well of wrote "Good Gig for me last night"

That kind a post doesn't really add any value to the thread.

Blow that trumpet of yours mate, you are only young once.

Indeed.Charlie, it's more than permissible to write along the lines of: " It was one of those lovely nights, when everything just seems to slot effortlessly into place. The whole thing ran like clockwork, bang on time, and the punters were lovely folk, who danced all night, and requested great tracks."

It's inadvisable to write: " Yet again, I was awesome"

I concur. A good 'good gig' report with details of why it went well, what songs worked etc. can be really helpful to others.

    Default Good Gig, Good Gig

Just had one of those weekends when all seemed a bit glum - I was full of cold and every joint ached but you just realise that you're on top of your game. I worked for 3 new customers at the weekend. All the venues were good (and accessible), the staff were all really nice and helpful and the customers were excellent. On top of that, here's the feedback from each gig:

"You're the best DJ we've ever had here" - venue manager

"That was brilliant, you were fantastic with the kids" - parent

"A massive thank you for last night, loved everything you played and will always recommend you in the future" - customer

    Makes it all worthwhile!
